Nayanthara's upcoming film 'Mookkuthi Amman' was scheduled to release on May 1, 2020, got postponed due to the pandemic. The latest we hear about the film's OTT release has got fans quite excited.

It was speculated earlier that the movie will get an OTT release. Now it is officially confirmed this RJ Balaji and NJ Saravanan directorial will get an digital release for the festival season.

Sources say that the film's producers Vels Film International has inked a deal with Disney+Hotstar and Vijay TV to premiere the film on both the platforms on Diwali day. An official confirmation about the direct OTT release will be out very soon, says a source close to the team.

RJ Balaji wrote in his social media post, that he will not be commentating for the Indian Premier League matches for about 20 days as he will be concentrating on the post-production and release work of his upcoming film, Mookuthi Amman.

Apart from streaming on the OTT platform, it is speculated that the film will also be aired on Star Vijay on Diwali 2020. If the rumours are believed to be true, then 'Mookuthi Amman' is the first Tamil film to have its director satellite premiere during the novel coronavirus pandemic.

In a recent interaction, Balaji said that he plays a middle-class guy with three sisters in the film. Lady Superstar Nayanthara plays the Godesses Amman in the film. Mouli and Urvashi are playing his parents while Ajay Gosh is the villain.

Mookuthi Amman is produced by Ishari K Ganesh under his home banner. The music for the movie is composed by Girishh G.
