Dhanush and Anirudh are reuniting for Dhanush's 44th film tentatively title 'D44'. 'Rockstar' Anirudh is composing for Dhanush's film after five years, since 'Thanga Magan' released in 2015.

On the occasaion of Anirudh's 30th birthday, Sun Pictures officially announced the project with a short video dedicated to the duo.

Anirudh rose to fame with his debut film in Dhanush's first production musical hit '3' directed by Aishwarya R Dhanush. 'Why this Kolaveri Di' song from the movie is one of the world's most listened and viewed song of all time in the digital era history.

Since then, the duo then worked together in several films and gave super-hit songs and fans lovingly called them DnA. Thoough Dhanush-Anirudh combo has given several chartbusters, after an alleged fallout, they both didn't work together for any project in last five years.

Ever since they stopped working together, both of them maintained stoic silence regarding their relationship. Despite Anirudh said in an interview that he will teamp up with Dhanush in 2019, that didn't seem to happen.

Meanwhile, Sun Pictures today officially announced D44 with Dhaush and Anirudh combination, in it's twitter handle.  "They are BACK!#HappyBirthdayAnirudh #HBDRockstarAnirudh #HBDAnirudh #HappyBirthdayRockstarAnirudh #D44 #DnAisBack @dhanushkraja @anirudhofficial (sic)," tweeted Sun Pictures.

The tweet also included a 1-minute 15-second video that compiled Anirudh's concerts where he performed the DNA songs. The end part of the video had a surprise for the fans as Anirudh and Dhanush were seen sitting side by side on a terrace. Dhanush says 'Play' to Anirudh and the latter plays the classic Karakatakaran theme in his harmonium.
