The most awaited TV reality show Bigg Boss Tamil 4 has finally began (6 pm on October 4, Sunday). Kamal Haasan is hosting the show for fourth time and recently shared the latest promo, with glimpses from the Bigg Boss house. “New life, new normal, new beginning,” he proclaims while entering.

Bigg Boss Tamil 4 will see a host of contestants trapped inside a house for no less than 100 days. According to a press release shared by the channel, this season will be the first time contestants will celebrate Deepavali, Christmas and New Year inside the house.

The popular reality show will feature celebrities from TV, films, music industries and social media sensations as well. The audience can expect some special performances of 16 contestants besides their entry into the Bigg Boss house in tonight’s premiere episode. Some changes in the tasks are expected owing to the pandemic.

"The garden area, the entrance, the washroom, the bedrooms, the living room and the kitchen are bright and colourful and will hopefully create a sense of happiness and celebration in the minds of the audience," reads their release.

Additionally, some of the improvements made in the house this time include a new pathway connecting the washroom area to the main house with new space for seating and a jail with a brand new outlook. Interestingly, the entire house will not be made available for the contestants on the launch night.

Contestants:

Rio Raj

The first contestant of Bigg Boss Tamil Season 4 is Rio Raj. No surprise there as everyone guessed his participation in the show. He is a TV host and an actor.

Sanam Shetty

Kamal Haasan introduces the second contestant: Sanam. We reported her entry into Bigg Boss yesterday. She says she hopes that participation in the show will help her grow as a person.

Rekha

Popular actor Rekha is the third contestant to enter Bigg Boss Tamil Season 4. During her heydays, she has done many movies with Kamal Haasan. Recently, Rekha was in the news when she revealed that she was not kept in the loop when Kamal kissed her for a scene in Punnagai Mannan.

Bala

The fourth contestant of the show is Bala, a fitness freak. He has won several awards in national and international bodybuilding events. "I was never recognized by the media when I won those fitness competitions. I am hoping that I will find that recognition here," he tells Kamal.

Anitha Sampath

Sun TV newsreader Anitha Sampath is the fifth contestant of Bigg Boss Tamil Season 4. She is known for hosting Vanakkam Tamizha that airs on the same TV channel.

Shivani

The sixth contestant of Bigg Boss Tamil Season 4 is Shivani Narayanan. No surprise again. There was little doubt about her participation in the reality show, thanks to her Instagram updates.

Jithan Ramesh

No introduction needed for the actor Ramesh Choudary, who is popularly known as Jithan Ramesh, enters as the 7th contestant of the show. Ramesh is the son of renowned producer R.B.Choudary and brother of popular actor Jiiva.

Vel Murugan

Playback singer known for his folk songs in Tamil Film Industry, Singer Vel Murugan entered as eighth contestant of the show.

Aari

'Nedunchaalai' fame actor and social activist Aari is the ninth contestant. He is big-time into organic farming, and it seems the use of pesticide in farming is a very touchy subject for him.

Somashekar

Multi-faced boxer, model and actor Som is the tenth entry. He was one of the five finalist in 'Azhagiya Tamil Magan' show aired on Vijay TV in 2010. He is a practising mixed martial artist who is trying to make it big in show business.

Gabriella

Gabriella Charlton is the eleventh contestant for this season. Vijay TV Jodi No 1 Junior Title Winner, acted in Dhanush's '3' movie as Shruthi's sister, she also participated in Jodi No 1 season 6 in Vijay TV.

Nisha

Stand up comedian and TV host Aranthangi Nisha is the twelfth entry into the Bigg Boss house. She gained fame after participating in season 5 of Kalakka Povadhu Yaaru.

Ramya Pandiyan

Again, no surprise, first on the list of expected contestant for season 4, given entry as thirteenth's participant. She played the female lead in director Raju Murugan’s critically acclaimed movie Joker. But, she became an internet sensation last year, when her pictures from a photoshoot went viral.

Samyuktha

One another confirmed contestant before the launch of the show, Samyuktha made her entry into Bigg Boss as fourteenth contestant. Samyuktha Karthik is an actress, model, nutritionist, dance instructor and an entrepreneur. She is the mother of a 4-year-old, and she is also a social media influencer who promotes fitness for mothers.

Suresh Chakravarthi

The Bigg Boss house's fifteenth contestant is Suresh Chakravarthy. Suresh has started a cooking channel on YouTube during this lockdown. He is a well-known actor and a popular producer. His production house NIC Arts has bankrolled many films of actor Ajith.

Aajeedh

Known since 2011 through Super Singer Junior season 3 on Vijay TV, Aajeedh Khalique enters the house and joins the inmates as sixteenth and final participant of the season.

That ends the grand launch of Bigg Boss Tamil Season 4 and Kamal Haasan's bid goodbye until next week. As per the Bigg Boss rules, there is no evection at the end of the first week. Bigg Boss announced the house will be on a partial lock-down with 1 bedroom, 1 toilet, 1 bathroom and 2 burners are closed. This is the first challenge for the housemates to face this week.
