Teaser released by Arya has stirred up the controversy and the difference in opinion among the fans and experts turned the film into social media talk
Santhosh Jayakumar’s adult comedy 'Irandam Kuththu' is a sequel to 'Iruttu Araiyil Murattu Kutththu', which released last year. The teaser of 'Irandam Kuththu' was released by Arya and has hogged the headlines on social media platforms.Veteran filmmaker Bharathiraja, who criticized 'Iruttu Araiyil Murattu Kutththu' during it's release, has slammed the makers again after watching the teaser of 'Irandam Kuththu' for its 'explicit' and 'cringy' content.
He released an official statement to condemn the 'Irandam Kuththu' teaser. In the statement, he mentioned that cinema can talk about different ways of life, but it can never be a place for explicit content. He said that he has never said that films would destroy culture but he insisted that there has to be dignity.
Bharathiraja said he enjoys any film that has a good storyline, but he could not watch the 'Irandam Kuththu' teaser without cringing. In his statement, he questioned how many good families would have cringed while watching the Irandam Kuththu teaser? He also asked the government and censor board to take action on this film while saying he would not want such film in Kollywood.
'Tik Tik Tik' is a suspense thriller and the female leads, Madhavi, Radha and Swapna, who are models in the movie wearing swimsuits are not vulgar, it is glamour. However 'Irandam Kuththu' is out and out adults only comedy film which explicitly showing sex toys, masturbation, hand-jobs to name a few. Wonder how a big director like Santhosh doesn't know the difference.
Moreover, 'Tik Tik Tik' can telecast on TV Channels and can be watched with family, but how many channels are willing to grab the satellite rights of Irandaam Kuththu? can they air 'Iruttu Araiyil Murattu Kuththu' or 'Irandam Kuththu' on their channels? (may air at 12 mid-night if they plan to do so) Can the director watch his movie along with his parents or with his 18+ year old children? (if he have any).
Taking a snapshot from one of Bharathiraja's film and saying he doesn't deserve to comment on his movie is so silly. Some netizens can argue Adult Comedy is a genre, but still the movie falls in the category of other 'A' rated Shakeela movies (18+) and it is not wise for Santhosh to compare it with 'Tik Tik Tik'.
'Irandam Kuththu' is one such movie that attracts the young bloods, age group of 18 to 30 or 35, not family-friendly, which can be watched only in theatres, with friends or alone on TV and can make us laugh like any-other Hollywood adult comedy.
'Irandam Kuththu' cast includes the director, Santhosh P. Jayakumar in the lead role with Karishma Kaul, Akrithi Singh, Meenal Sahu, Motta Rajendran, Daniel Annie Pope among others in key roles.

— Bharathiraja (@offBharathiraja) October 8, 2020Responding to the criticism, the film’s director Santhosh has tweeted a photograph from Bharathiraja’s 1981 film Tik Tik Tik that shows three women actors in swimsuits standing behind a seated, fully-clothed Kamal Haasan. “With all due respect to him. Tik Tik Tik movie in 1981 la idha paathu koosadha kannu, ippo koosirucho...? (your eyes didn't shy away from this image but they are being bothered now?)" he wrote.
Director Santhosh's response on comparing his 'A' rated film with 'Tik Tik Tik' is very immature, which is like comparing apples with oranges. This has annoyed the fans of Kamal Haasan and the veteran director. With all due respect to him
