Elon Musk’s SpaceX, NASA, and Tom Cruise have partnered up to make the first feature film to be shot in outer space. This is not another installment of 'Mission Impossible' series.

Tom Cruise is set to fly to the International Space Station in October 2021 to shoot the first-ever blockbuster movie in space. The movie has been confirmed by NASA administrator Jim Bridenstine via twitter. Elon Musk of SpaceX also confirmed the same.

There isn't been any words on plot details, or title for the project as of yet. Christopher McQuarrie, who worked with Tom Cruise on Mission Impossible, will be involved in the movie. Doug Liman is directing the film. McQuarrie, Cruise worked with Liman before in 'Edge Of Tomorrow'. Sources say this space movie could be a sequel to 'Edge Of Tomorrow'.

Tom Cruise is famous for doing his own insane stunts and now for the film he is on a mission to space station for real. It is worth to recall that, in 'Mission: Impossible Fallout' Tom broke his ankle in a leap from one rooftop to the other and he also hung from a helicopter; he hung from the side of a jet plane during takeoff in 'Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation', and in 'Mission: Impossible: Ghost Protocol' he scaled the Burj Khalifa, the Dubai skyscraper, and executed stunts 123 floors up.

This isn't the first space movie for the actor, Tom Cruise did a sci-fi space movie 'Oblivion' released in 2013. If he is successful shooting a project in Musk’s space ship, he will be alone in the Hollywood record books.
