Like Kollyinsider reported Sun Pictures is producing the direct-to-home movie to be directed by Komban, Kutti Puli fame Muthaiah.

Many OTT players like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+ Hotstat and Zee5 are making Original series and movies to stream on their platform and also premiering movies on their platform, skipping theatrical release

Now Sun Pictures forays into producing originals starting with a rural entertainer, movie has been tentatively titled 'Pechi'⇎. Directed by Muthaiah, the movie will have Vikram Prabhu and Lakshmi Menon playing the lead role. Vikram Prabhu and Lakshmi Menon paired earlier for Prabhu Soloman's blockbuster 'Kumki'. Sources say the shooting of the movie is likely to start from October 5th.

This will be the first-ever movie to have a direct release on Sun Pictures OTT platform SunNxt without a theatrical release and also premiere in SunTV. An official announcement about the movie is expected soon.

Vikram was last seen on big screens in the film 'Asuraguru', which was directed by A Raajdheep. Next, he is part of Mani Ratnam's epic historical drama 'Ponniyin Selvan'.

Meanwhile, Lakshmi Menon, who was last seen alongside Vijay Sethupathi in 'Rekka', had been on a break for her education, was recently back on social media with her photos trending and had also shared dance videos which turned viral. She has 'Sippai', 'Yung Mung Sung' and an untitled film opposite Gautam Karthik in her kitty.

⇎ Not to be confused with horror film 'Pechi', directed by Ramachandran, who won accolades from Late director Balu Mahendra for his shortfilm 'Pechi'. First Look Poster of the film was launched By Actor Suriya, Vijay sethupathy & Actress Aishwarya Rajesh back in January 2019 and there were no updates on the film since then.
