The shooting of Sundar C's comedy crime film 'Mayabazar 2016' Tamil remake began in Chennai today
Kannada comedy crime film 'Mayabazar 2016' was released in February this year to positive reviews. Starring Vasishta Simha and Chaithra Rao in the lead roles, the film was directed by Radhakrishna Reddy and it was bankrolled by the Kannada Power Star Puneeth Rajkumar, who has appeared in a cameo in this film, which was its highlight.
Badri, who made films like 'Veerappu', 'Thambikku Entha Ooru', and 'Thillu Mullu', an associate of Sundar C, will be wielding the megaphone for the Tamil remake of the 'Mayabazar 2016'. Sundar C's production house Avni Movies is producing the film. This will be sixth production from the banner after box office hits including 'Hello Naan Pei Pesuren', 'Meesaya Murukku', 'Natpe Thunai' and 'Naan Sirithaal'.
Today, Sundar C kick-started the work for his Avni Movies production no.6 and started the shooting with the muhurat puja in Chennai. Prasanna, Shaam, Ashwin Kakumanu, Yogi Babu, and Shruthi Marathi are a part of the lead cast. VTV Ganesh, RNR. Manohar, Rithika Sen, and Master Shakti are playing the lead roles in the film. The Tamil remake of Maya Bazaar will be directed by Sundar C's Badri.
When the Central government devalued the currency, lives of many in the country were affected. "How Prasanna, Shyam, and Ashwin are affected by the demonetization is the main plot of the film", read an official statement from the team.
Prasanna is playing the role of a cop in the crime comedy film, who has been spotted in a cop uniform at the shooting spot. Raiza Wilson is also reportedly playing a key role in the remake, and the music of the film will be scored by Sathya, who is also composing for Aranmanai 3.
Sundar C currently has a couple of films needing his attention. He is directing the third part of the Aranmanai franchise with Arya, Raashi Khanna and Sakshi Agarwal, Andrea Jeremiah in the lead roles. The shooting of this film is currently on hold due to the pandemic and is likely to resume soon. The movie will be produced by his home banner Avni Movies.
