How Santhanu missed to act in 'Boys', 'Kaadhal' and 'Subramaniapuram'? Bhagyaraj reveals
Bhagyaraj says Santhanu missed to work on big projects because of his family background.
Bhagyaraj said that, Santhanu's disadvantage is having family from a film-background. "Directors think that I would listen to stories for you and ask them to make changes. Because of this reason, many directors are not approaching you", said Baghyaraj.
Bhaghyaraj opened up on why he couldn't say yes to Shankar's 'Boys', Balaji Sakthivel's 'Kaadhal', and Sasikumar's 'Subramaniapuram'. All these directors wanted Shanthanu to play the lead role in their respective films.
"When Shankar narrated the script of Boys, you were too young that you didn't even have a mustache. The film demanded a mature hero and I also didn't want your debut film to have too much romance. I loved Balaji Sakthivel's Kaadhal and told him that the film would become a huge success but again, the script demanded a mature hero. I was impressed with Sasikumar's Subramaniapuram but at the same time, Thanu sir was planning a grand launch for you with Sakkarakatti. I couldn't ask Thanu sir and Rahman sir to finish the film quickly. Tried asking Sasikumar to wait but he had his commitments. I wouldn't say that you missed these projects. Everything happens for a reason", said Bhagyaraj to Shanthanu.
'Boys', 'Kaadhal', and 'Subramaniapuram', all three movies Santhanu missed to work turned out to be blockbuster hits. Actors like Bharath, Jai, Sasi Kumar, Siddharth had major breakthrough in their carrier from their respective movies.
Shanthanu said that though his entry was easy in Tamil cinema, he has been facing a lot of struggles in the last ten years to get a proper break in the industry.
Shanthanu will be next seen along with Thalapathy Vijay starrer 'Master', directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj.
