The Varathapadatha Valibar Sangam actress Sri Divya who is riding high on the success of Jeeva and Vellaikaara Durai is reportedly roped in for the heroine role in the Tamil and Telugu remake of Malayalam superhit film Bangalore Days.

Earlier, Samantha and Siddharth were roped in to reprise the lead roles played by Dulquer Salman and Nazriya Nazim. However, the alleged ex-lovers have recently confirmed that they are out of the project.

Makers of Banagalore Days remake were in search of a similar actress who is equally famous in Kollywood and Tollywood, and finally signed in Sri Divya. Arya, Nithya Menon and Bobby Simhaa will be seen in other lead roles in this Bommarillu Bhaskar directorial film, which will go on floors in March. The film is a romantic comedy drama revolves around three cousins who come to Bangalore.

A source close to the production house said, “Post Samantha’s exit, the makers have decided to go for a relatively new face for the leading lady role. They watched Sri Divya’s earlier films Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam and Jeeva in Tamil etc. and were impressed with her performance.

The actor had a few movies to finish, may join the shooting of the movie in March.
