Actor-filmmaker Parthepan is all set to enter the Kannada film industry with the film Dada, which will be helmed by Gombegala Love fame director Santhosh. “I have been approached by Kannada filmmakers for the past 10 years, but this film seemed just right. It is called Dada and I play the protagonist,” he says.

The actor reveals that late actor Vishnuvardhan was a reason for signing this project. “I know that Vishnuvardhan has also done a film that was titled Daada. I love his style. Along with the script, this was another reason I felt was apt for me to do this film,” says Parthepan.

The actor says he is a fan of Upendra’s films and those are the Kannada films he watches. “I have seen almost all his films. I have done Malayalam films and I have an audience there now. My reason to do a Kannada film is selfish. I want a market in Bangalore and Mysore for my Tamil films through my Sandalwood debut,” he says.
