Director Parthiepan’s Kathai Thiraikathai Vasanam Iyakkam (KTVI) which was to release on Aug 1 has been postponed. The producers will be announcing a new release date later. The buzz is that KTVI was not able to get screens as Aug 1 weekend is jam packed.

With KTVI bowing out, it's going to be a more or less a straight fight between Siddharth's Karthik Subbaraj directed Jigarthanda and Producer CV Kumar’s Sarabham with new faces. Two other small films Muthal Manavan and Sandiyar have also announced an August 1 release.

Incidentally, Jigarthanda is directed by Karthik Subbaraj whose earlier movie Pizza was produced by CV Kumar. And also Siddharth’s next movie Lucia Tamil remake is being produced by CV Kumar.

Still, both the teams will go for a friendly contest this Friday. Jigarthanda is carrying good reports with the trailer and songs being a huge hit. CV Kumar’s crime thrillers have always done well at the box office and Sarabham will be no exception according to the trade in Tamil Nadu.
