The first look of Vadivelu’s comeback film, Jaggajala Pujabala Tenaliraman, is out, giving the actor’s fans something to cheer about.

The film is directed by Yuvaraj who earlier made Potta Poti. Says Yuvaraj, “Though he hasn’t been in films for the past two years, Vadivelu is very lively on the sets. He rehearses scenes before we shoot them and presents me with his own take on the scene. He hasn’t lost his energy during this break from films.”

The director clarifies that though Vadivelu plays Tenaliraman, the film isn’t a fictional account of the jester. “In fact, the other character that Vadivelu plays in the film is that of the king. But, we have refrained from naming him as the story is a fictional one and isn’t a biopic or historical on Tenaliraman,” he says.

The film’s female lead Meenakshi Dixit, who appeared in the Madurai Ponnu song, plays a princess. “I’ve given her the films of Bhanumathi and Vyjayanthi Mala to observe their grace and poise. Since she is trained in classical dance, she was able to pick up the nuances very well,” he says.
