Ram's Thanga Meengal is the only Tamil film selected by Indian Panorama for 2013 IFFI to be held in Goa and also selected for Golden Elephant, 18th International Children film festival of India.

Out of 210 entries 25 features films are selected to be screened in 10 days at 44th IFFI that takes place from 20th of November to 30. Happy Thanga Meengal director tweeted, "Glad to inform that Thangameengal is the only Tamil film selected in Indian Panorama, IFFI, Goa."
