The audio launch of child artiste turned hero Mahendran’s 'Vizha' that took place recently at Kamala Cinemas, saw the who’s who of the industry turning up on the occasion.

Apparently, Mahendran acted with most celebs as a kid, including Balachandar, Bharathyraja, K.S. Ravikumar (who introduced Mahendran, the child star, in Naattamai), Devyani, Khushboo, Namitha and Bharath, producer Ramanarayanan who attended the function.

Bharathy Balakumaran, who won critical acclaim from veterans Balachandar and Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan for his short film Manadhu, is foraying into the large screen as a director with Vizha. Going with the present trend, Bharathy has extended his short, Manadhu, to a full-fledged movie, Vizha. James Vasanthan returns with a bang with an out-and out rural theme. Since the hero plays a ‘parai’ in the movie, that instrument was used in most of the scenes.

In fact, the audio unveiled was in the shape of a parai, and Mahendran who went emotional on the occasion, turned the disc and played it for the audience. Malavika Menon essays his love interest. Others who graced the event include Vijay Sethupathy, Gnanavelraja, Kayaar, Madan Karky and Jegan.
