They are back. This time with a more powerful touch. Devi Sri Prasad pumps in all his energy to savour the taste of mass audience, who are curiously awaiting the arrival of Singam 2. The film is a sequel to blockbuster hit movie 'Singam' that is regarded as the best entertainer of all season. The film is directed by Hari and is produced by Lakshman Kumar of Prince Pictures. Starring Anushka Shetty and Hansika Motwani in the female lead roles, the film features Vivek and Santhanam to tickle our funny bones.
Acchamillai
Singer: Devi Sri Prasad
DSP picks up Poet Bharathiyaar's famous lines 'Acchamillai' and suddenly makes a move to a different platform of aggrandizing 'Singam' as the same phrases are reprised again. The song will patently will have its realms with the visuals and we're sure Suriya's aggressive 'Angry Man' looks will surely add more intensity to this song.
Kannukulle
Singers: Javed Ali, Priya Himesh
Rap: David Simon
The song, slightly reminiscent of 'Kadhal Vandhaale' from the prequel and 'Vaada Maapilla' from Villu. Of course, This is DSP's favourite touch of musical genre as he lets loose on rendering enjoyable music. Quite a different show by Javed Ali and Priya Himesh does justice to the song. David Simon's rap lines stand out as icing of the cake.
Puriyavillai
Singer: Swetha Menon
You'll fall in love with it for the first time. DSP has tried adding techno music to the melodious pitching of Swetha Menon. Although, the violins on interludes sound a little louder, it is balanced with the mild beats and overall it's Swetha Menon winning the praises for her beautiful style. This is one of the best picks in this album and will surely capture everyone within short span of time.
Singam Dance
Singers: DSP & Baba Sehgal
'Hey Sa Ri Ga Ma Pa Dha Nee Sa...Come on Come on Karo Jalsa'. Remember this song from Pawan Kalyan's Jalsa? Yes again, it's one of the best songs in the career of Devi Sri Prasad and 'Singam Dance' travels on the same route. On the other end, it's a slow version of 'Open Gagnam Style' as Baba Sehgal utters 'It's a Singam Dance'. The song will have its place easily carved among the kids and youth for its enjoyable music.
Vaale Vaale
Singer: Shankar Mahadevan
It's a perfect intro for Singam Suriya and has lots of elements to raise our energy bars as we hear this song. Crooned by Shankar Mahadevan, Devi Sri Prasad has taken seemingly taken scrutinising efforts on getting the song with right momentum.
Vidhai Pola
Singer: Hariharan
The song sends us high with adrenaline rush as it is clear that the song is set in a critical juncture. The music director has done a fantastic job for his compositions with best orchestrations... He really needs special appreciation for his earnest work. Hariharan carries the powerful impact and no other actor would have done justice to it other than him.
On the whole, 'Singam-2' strikes with a mix of melody, peppy and overpowering tracks that will suit perfectly to a T in this film. While 'Puriyavillai' sets to be a sweet melodious treat, 'Vidhal Pola' keeps us intact with its meaningful lyrics and musical orchestration.
Verdict : Picture perfect work by DSP.
