Vikraman was Tamil Cinema's number one director at the box-office during 90's and early 2000. He had an amazing box-office track record of hits like – Poove Unkagge, Suryavamsam, Unnidathil Ennai Koduthen, and Vanathepole.

Then came a series of damp squibs like Priyamana Thozhi, Chennai Kadhal and the colossal flop Mariyadhai. The trade felt Vikraman lost his magic touch as he was not in tune with today's audiences.

Now after a four years break, Vikraman known for his feel good family entertainers is back with a new love story Ninaithathu Yaaro. The film has all newcomers in the cast with Rijith and Nimisha in the lead.

To make it look fresh and breezy Vikraman and his unit flew to Kashmir and shot two songs there in picturesque locations in Pahalgam. Vikraman is teaming up with music director X Paulraj for the first time.

Vikraman said : " Ninaithathu Yaaro is a beautiful love story with family sentiments. Recently we went to Kashmir the first Tamil film unit after nearly a decade to shoot in Kashmir. Some of my friends told me it is very risky to shoot in the valley but we managed it due to support of local police and security agencies”
