Walt Disney joins UTV for Sundar C's 'Theeya Vela Seiyyanum Kumaru'
The Walt Disney Studios and UTV Motion Pictures are now collaborating for Sundar's C upcoming film Theeya Vela Seiyyanum Kumaru starring Siddarth and Hansika Motwani in lead roles.

Following the grand success of Kalakalappu, Sundar C is now gearing up for yet another comedy entertainer that will feature Siddarth in an unforeseen role while Santhanam will tickle your funny bones with unlimited comedy.

The film has Ganesh Venkatram in an important role while rest of the star-cast includes Jennifer, VidyuMohanram, Devadarshini, Chitra Lakshmanan, Delhi Ganesh, Boskky, FM. Balaji, George, Vichu and others. Gopi Amarnath of Pizza fame has handled cinematography while Engeyum Eppodhum Sathya has composed songs.

Major portion of the film has been shot extensively at Kumbakonam, Chennai and Hyderabad while couple of songs are scheduled to be shot in Japan. The audio launch of the film is slated to happen in April followed by theatrical release in June.

While Hollywood studios have started foraying into the Tamil film industry, Walt Disney has already been into the Indian film industry. It was lurking behind UTV in the form of a 50.44% ownership which makes it the major share holder.

UTV’s and Walt Disney’s tryst with Tamil cinema began through the distribution of Deiva Thirumagal and the tie-up with Thirupathi brothers on three of their films to co-produce along with the latter also shows their interest in the Tamil film industry.

The Lingusamy production house currently produces three films: Vettai, Vazhakku En 18/9 and Kumki, directed by Lingusamy, Balaji Sakthivel and Prabhu Solomon respectively. Besides these three films, UTV also produces Mysskin’s Mugamoodi. Meanwhile, UTV software communications is up for grabs.

Walt Disney has proposed the purchase of UTV software communications limited at Rs. 1000 per share and asked them to delist the shares from all the stock exchanges including BSE and NSE. This is a complete buy out of UTV valued at Rs. 2014 crore or $454 million dollars.
