Top 5 Kollywood Movie Box Office Gross: Vishwaroopam 2nd place
We has predicted the box office figures for the top five kollywood films in terms of gross and now Vishwaroopam's box office numbers made into the Top five Kollywood gross. Here is the Top five kollywood gross numbers as of today (25 Feb 2013)....

1) Endhiran:


By all statistics, Endhiran ranks No.1 in Box office. The total gross revenue of the movie was expected to be around 280-300 crores . Sun Pictures has officially announced this in their year end report.

Budget: 150 crores(Rajini's salary + budget)

Gross:300crores

Nett:250crores

Share:172crores

Total profit= (Share- budget) + Satellite rights = 22 + 40 =62 crores

2) Vishwaroopam:


As of now Vishwaroopam is number two at the all-time box office in Kollywood. The total estimated gross revenue of its life time is expected be around 175-180crores.

Budget: 95 crores

Gross: 180 crores

Nett: 125 crores

Share : 100 crores

Total profit = (Share- budget) + Satellite rights = 5+ 20 = 25 crores.

3) Sivaji:


As per our estimates Sivaji should have grossed around 130 crores. It has to be recalled that Rajinikanth in an interview had revealed that when the discussion of producing Endhiran has been going on, KalanithiMaran had asked Rajini to wait for some days since he wanted to collect the area wise box office report of Sivaji. Maran came to a conclusion to produce Endhiran with a whopping 132 crores budget based on the report. This is also an indication that Sivaji’s gross will be about 130 crores.

Budget: 60 crores

Gross:130crores

Nett:90crores

Share:70crores

Profit: 10 + 15 = 25 crores

4) Thuppakki:


As of now Thuppakki has grossed 100 crores and by our estimate it will end up with 115 crores. The total share amount for Thuppakki will be around 80 crores and it will find its place on an all time number three in Box Office.

Budget:70 crores

gross:115 crores

Nett:90 crores

Share:80 crores

Total profit: 10 +15 = 25 crores

5) 7aam Arivu/ Dasavatharam/ Nanban :


It can be said that all the three films have sailed in the same boat. More or less, all these three films have grossed about 90-95 crores. The Nett amount is expected to be around 60-65 crores and the film’s budget was also more or less the same. Hence all the three films should have made only return on investment. As there has been a very minor difference between all three films’ Gross, it is very difficult to rank them.

    Universal Super Star Kamalhaasans Vishwaroopam has collected 223.51 Crores in 39 days.Still running with average Gross worldwide. It will touch around 250 - 275 Crores in its lifetime run.Vishwaroopam will be in 2nd place after Endhiran in All time Blockbusters in Tamil film History.

    Vijayabasker is right. It should be Enthiran, Viswaroopam, Dasavatharam and Sivaji and followed by other films. he is also right that Enthiran did not collect 300 crore. It collected between 200 and 250 crore in total and not more. Viswaroopam is heading to match enthiran in that sense or even surpass the record.

      In our view; Viswaroopam is soley done (A-Z) by our Honorable Mr. Kamal Hassan, whereas Enthiran is due to our Honourable Mr. Shankar's brain & SUNTV's massive promo, and only contribution from Mr. Rajini Kanth is his physcial appearance (body), thus entire credit cannot go to Mr. Rajini Kanth (in our view, only 20% of the total earnings may be due to his own skills / image).

      Endhiran 180 crores is the published share received by the producers and not the actual gross... The figure of 180 crores as a producer's ahare is a huge huge figure... You should know the cinema business before you can comment.. Dont go by WIKIPEDIA... It is adamantly run by certain idiots who try to undermine south indian cinema purposefully to glorify Hindi cinema..

      true.. It collected about 110 crores worldwide gross.. however it suffered due to its high budget of 60 - 70 crores...

      The movie was not given the 20-30% entertainment tax waiv off and therefore a majority of it went there...

      Overall BELOW AVERAGE.. theatrical collections ddnt collect the budget.. however with the addition of sattlelite rights and other rights.. It did collect the overall investment by the producer..

      thalaiva is really ablockbuster in frgn and all outside state territory
      Thalaiva was sold for more than 20 c in frgn , 20 c in other states and 15 c in tamil satellite and 3 c in telugu satelite 42 c for TN.Total business done 100 c.
      It has already collected more than 20 c in fgn territory so far and declared blockbuster
      In Bangalore it showed hsitrorical run. In kerala it is still runs in Andhra it was released in 300 screens and collected morethan 50 cilcuding Mumbai it had a very good run.
      It has theu collected 60 c in fgn and other territories.
      18 c in satellite.
      More than10 c in Chennai so far despite delayed release and CD releasewd....
      In TN it ahas so far collected more than 36 cand thus 46 c in TN.
      All these collections are so far.
      IT MEANS IT HAS ALREADY COLLECTED MORE THAN 100 C SO FAR AND WILL Collect more , thetre owners who are really satisfied.THALAIVA IS JUST ABLOCKBUSTER AND ANTIVIJAY JEALOUSY CATS MAY JUMP INTO BAY OF BENGAL IF THEY WISH
