The much talked remake of Tamil hit 'Thuppaki' starring Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha in lead has commenced and Akshay Kumar was spotted shooting for the AR Murugadoss film at the same Bandra bungalow where the Vidya Balan- Siddharth Roy Kapoor marriage took place.

Akshay tweeted on his micro blogging site recently "Started shooting my first film in the new year, the Hindi remake of Thuppakki! Would love to get your good wishes today."

After a successful 2012 in which he had three well received movies in Housefull 2, Rowdy Rathore and Oh My God, Akshay Kumar has started 2013 in right earnest. Sonakshi Sinha will be his onscreen pair yet again in Thuppakki which is an action thriller that throws light on sleeper cells who are out to terrorize Mumbai city.

The Hindi version is yet to be titled. Akshay also tweeted "What should we call the Hindi remake of Thuppakki? For those who don't know, Thuppakki means a gun in Tamil and is an action thriller."

Vijay and Kajal Aggarwal featured in the Tamil original which was a highly successful movie in 2012. ARM would be looking to repeat the success with Akshay and Sonakshi as well.
