The actress will be seen playing the lead in composer G V Prakash’s maiden production.
An excited Oviya says, “I’m a Keralite, and though I’ve played really interesting characters in Tamil films, I’ve always wanted to play a Malayali here. Finally, I’ve got an opportunity to realise my dream. I play a student in this film. It’s an excellent script, and lays emphasis on our culture. The film will be directed by Vikram Sukumaran, an associate of Balu Mahendra. “Debutant Kathir will play the lead in the film. We are hoping to go on floors by next month,” she says.
