Director Mani Ratnam's much awaited film Kadal went through the censor certification procedure today and has been cleared by the censor board with a clean 'U' certificate.
The movie's release date is under deliberation and the speculated release date of February 1st is not yet confirmed.

It stars debutantes Gautham Karthik and Thulasi in the lead roles, while Arjun, Arvind Swamy and Lakshmi Manchu have been roped in to play pivotal roles. Music has been composed by AR Rahman and produced by Mani Ratnam himself under his banner Madras Talkies. The story of Kadal revolves around the life of a fisherman who is caught between good and evil. The director believes that everyone will be able to relate to the movie.
