Gautham Menon has been in the storm frequently for his supposed remarks on directing Ajith and Vijay. A quote was even attributed to him in the recent past stating that Gautham would never be interested to direct the two stars.

He cleared the air in a recent interview stating that not only him, but even other directors of a similar stature as him, like Sasikumar and Murugadoss, would also be more than willing to direct the two stars. It's just a question of the two stars accepting and deciding to act in their projects.

Gautham said that he isn't that big a hotshot to refuse a film with Ajith or Vijay. If they decide to do their next films with him, he would be more than willing to take it up. Now, that's a clear riposte from the NEPV director.
