Whenever someone arrives with new ideas and discovers, the individual is supposed to get ready for receiving both bouquets and brickbats. ...
Well, things aren’t an exception for Kamal Haasan, who made a spearheading attempt over premiering his upcoming film Vishwaroopam over DTH in spite of heavy protests from theatre owners across Tamil Nadu.
The bookings opened yesterday with Airtel DTH service charging Rs. 1000 for the Tamil version while Rs. 500 for both Telugu and Hindi versions.
According to the reports, the Airtel subscribers have thronged up in crowds to book the film not concerned about the cost.
One of the customers says, “While the basic ticket rate of a film is Rs. 120/- in all theatres, it runs to a grand total of Rs. 1000 for family members of 4 that includes travel allowance and other expenses in theatre. With DTH, it saves time, money and energy.”
A leading film personality mentions that the introduction of DTH premiere will curb down the rate of pirated videos to a greater degree.
