Shruti Hassan is all set to do a comedy venture. A Tamil film, Gopichand Malineni, to be directed by Balupu is Shruti’s first brush with a laugh riot.

“Ravi Teja has been paired opposite Hassan and she is pretty excited and is waiting to explore this new side of cinema.,” a source revealed.

Performing comedy scenes is not an easy task and Shruti always wanted to take up the challenge of doing a complete comedy film. “She is preparing for her role well in advance. Shruti loves watching comedy films and now since this offer came her way she jumped at it,” said the source.

While in Mumbai, Shruti is busy shooting with debutant Girish Taurani for a Hindi venture being directed by Prabhu Deva.

The source added, “But besides acting Shruti is passionate about singing and is gearing up to release her own solo album.
