1 Song: Saayndhu Saayndhu

The song begins with the lyrics ‘Saayndhu Saayndhu nee paarkkum bothu… adada…’ and words strung together to make the entire song is very poetic. Added to this is the melodious tune by maestro Ilayaraja. The song depicts the lady-love’s soft movements. It has the potential of becoming a huge hit, especially among the lovers. Yuvan’s voice and Ilayaraja’s music has given life to this song!

2 Song: Sattru Munbu
Singers: Ramya NSK

The song tells the pain love brings. The tune has certainly added another feather to Isai Gnani’s already adorned cap of feathers! Ramya’s voice when mouthing the lyrics ‘Ooindhu pona nam vaarthaigal melum thodaruma… kaaindhu pona en kannathil vannam malaruma…’ hits hard about the pain that love brings.

3 Song: Vaanam Mella
Singers: Ilayaraaja, Bela Shende

The novel music at the beginning of the song is a new experience and added to it is the wonderful lyrics. The plus point of this song is Ilayaraja’s mesmerizing voice. The tune seems to be old but nevertheless a great song to listen to. The lyrics and tunes do not clash which make it a pleasing experience.

4 Song: Yennodu Vaa Va

The song comprises the biblical verses ‘Naan unnai vittu vilaguvadhumillai… unnai kaividuvathumillai…’ along with the poetic lines ‘Ennodu vaa vaa endru solla maatten… unnai vittu veru engum poga matten…’and Ilayaraja has given a new dimension to the song. In each of the lyrics, we are able to enjoy a new tune. Though it is a love song, Ilayaraja’s music has taken it to different level all-together.

5 Song: Kaatrai Konjam

The song goes into the ‘all pass category’ with its peppy melody, charming lyrics, and enamoring voice. Though Ilayaraja has used the music of the 1980s and 90s for the song Kaatrai Konjam it sounds slightly different suit the current trends. Each of the lyrics in this song is a studded diamond. The song lingers in our mind for a long time!

6 Song: Mudhal Murai
Singers: Sunidhi Chauhan

Confused over the changes in the mind due to the impact of love, the heroine sings ‘Nee mazhaiya illai veyyila…’ This song establishes that the hero is her ‘Neethaane En Ponvasantham.’ The beats in this song surpasses the voice. The lyrics ‘Neethaane En Ponvasantham’ is blissful to listen to. Everything is a ‘wow’ in this song right from the beginning till the end!

7 Song: Pengal Yendral

Ilayaraja’s music for this song is unique and it is pleasure to listen. This song will certainly feature in the list of ‘Kalakkal’ songs among the college-goers.

Ilayaraja can certainly the feel the pulse of the music buffs and has worked hard to give a great album. This is evident from each line of the songs. Though some numbers in the album remind us of old songs, Ilayaraja has set it right with his new music. In total, the maestro’s music is a blend of bliss and melancholy.
