Actress Shobana might not be busy with films currently, but she is certainly keeping herself occupied with her life’s passion — dance.
The actress, who runs a Bharatanatyam training school in Chennai, also choreographs and performs unique dance dramas. One such attempt was Krishna, which she premiered last year in the city. Now, she is all set to stage the acclaimed musical again.
Crafted for lovers of the avant-garde, innovative and contemporary dancing, Krishna promises an evening of spectacle. The show is all about Krishna the man, his philosophy and why he is still beyond man’s understanding, all on a canvas of Vrindavan and Mathura to Kurukshetrais presented beautifully and esthetically and this show will speak out on Krishna’s multi dimensional aspects ,more than the other shows presented in the past.
Shobana will stage the dance drama at Narada Gana Sabha on the evening of August 9.
Meanwhile, on the acting front, the actress-danseuse is part of Simbu’s Podaa Podi, which is the debut of Varalaksmi Sarath Kumar. Interestingly, Shobana plays a dance teacher in the film, which is a romantic musical.
