Kollywood in to 3D movies!

Looks like our multi – faceted Kollywood professionals have finally come of age. By competing with bigwigs from Bollywood and even Hollywood, the industry seems to be ready to join the big league of animated 3D producers.

With three successive productions, namely, Kochadaiyaan, Ambuli and Adhisaya Ulagam ready to hit theatres near you, K'town players are ready to put up a world – class show.

Soundarya Ashwin who is directing her father, superstar Rajinikanth in the first 3D movie Kochadaiyaan in Kollywood , released the first look of the movie on Twitter followed by a tweet reading ":):) …. Thank you all so much for all the tweets!!"

Such outstanding technical wizardry is plausible only when we have experts working for us. "Kollywood has arrived on the global scene. From high-powered action sequences with special effects to a full-fledged three dimensional movie.

Sequencing a power-packed sequence then adding the 3 dimensional elements is a task in itself. The director needs to be completely clear about what he wants.

There are two ways of going about it, either by the usual technique then adding the 3D effects, or by directly using the 3D technique during the course of shooting," says graphic designer, Carlton Bernard.

Joining the bandwagon soon will be director, Venkat Prabhu, who is planning on roping in heartthrob, Suriya, for his 3D venture.

Such initiatives have attracted a lot of attention from the younger sect. Post Avatar becoming an overnight craze, it has become evident that our audience is ready to shed their inhibitions and are open up to newer experiences.

K'town has always been matching its pace with other film industries, then why not 3D? And the cherry on top is that superstar Rajinikanth will be starring in the first 3D Kollywood movie. What more can one ask for?" says Charles Preetham, movie buff.

From humongous budgets, high-tech special effects to roping in experts from around the globe. Hence proving that breaking barriers and scaling newer what Kollywood is all about.
