The President of the Council S A Chandrasekaran said, "As the distributors and exhibitors felt that only five days in a year for big films would not suffice as there will be heavy competition among the big films in a given particular time and this would affect the business of the industry the council has decided to add three more days as against only five days a year. Now, the big films can also see its releases during first week of March and June and in mid-December."
Many top production houses and the distributors and exhibitors have expressed their happiness over the decision of the Producers Council.
