Tom Cruise, AR Rahman, Maniratnam, Shahruk at Dubai film festival

Tom Cruise starrer Mission Impossible - Ghost Protocol opened the 8th Dubai International Film Festival. The stardom of Indian film industry including Oscar winner A.R. Rahman, Ace director Mani Ratnam and King Khan are expected to attend DIFF.


Cruise filmed some of the key scenes for the movie MI 4 - Ghost Protocol in Dubai . He has reportedly performed some dangerous and exciting stunts including a daredevil stunt hanging from the Burj Khalifa in the movie. And most of the shots depicting Mumbai were actually shot in Dubai.

Oscar winner A.R. Rahman becomes the first musician to be honoured with a lifetime achievement award at DIFF. He is also the youngest recipient of the honour. South Indian director Mani Ratnam along with Ashutosh Gowariker are the other Indians to receive lifetime achievement awards.

Don 2 crew is on a promotional stretch. Shah Rukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra and Farhan Akthar are expected to attend DIFF. SRK and Priyanka have a huge following in Dubai.

The cast of Ladies vs Ricky Behl including lead actors Anushka Sharma and Ranveer Singh will also attend the premiere of their film.

The festival includes screening of 171 films from over 56 countries. The festival also includes a special and exciting section 'Celebrate India' dedicated to the films from India.
