Almost all the frontline actresses in Kollywood and elsewhere do make it a point to appoint a well-informed manager who does everything possible at his disposal to bag new film offers for his boss.
Despite an actress' stature in the industry, it is always imperative for the actress to have a manager who not only succeeds in bagging new film offers for her but also manages her call-sheet dates.

They also act as 'advisers' to these actresses by providing them valuable inputs about the various producers and directors' career which helps the latter to decide about whether or not to take up a particular film project. In actress Karthika's case, though, her mother and veteran actress Radha doubles up as her manager to manage her daughter's call-sheet dates and other matters.

Cinematographer-director Thangar Bachchan has long back wrapped up his upcoming film Kalavadiya Pozhudhugal starring Prabhudeva and Bhumika Chawla. The film has had many release dates announced but is yet to see the light of the day so far. Despite Thangar's best efforts, he hasn't been able to make the film release in the desired theatres. As such, he thought of starting his next project and approached Karthika to star in it.

Karthika debuted successfully early this year in the super-hit film Ko as Jiiva's heroine. The girl hadn't taken up any other projects in Tamil till she was signed up by veteran director Bharathiraaja to star in his Annakodiyum Kodiveeranum which was launched some time back. The film has actor-director Ameer playing the male lead.

Radha's reply to Thangar was that "I have 'handed over' my daughter to Bharathiraaja Sir; only after he completes his film can I think of my daughter's next film. You might have to get in touch with him to get my daughter's call-sheet!"
