When Shankar approached Rajnikanth for a project, he had three scripts ready to work on. One was Sivaji – The Boss, Endhiran – The Robot that was initially meant to be done for Kamal Haasan and Shah Rukh Khan and another movie is based on unusual plot about the secret behind Indian civilization.
To make sure that the first film goes commercially well, Rajnikanth chose ‘Sivaji – The Boss’, which gave him more confidence to work on the experimental project of ‘Endhiran’.

Now it looks like the duo combo might strike together again for another movie. It is heard that A.R. Rahman has been already signed for the film. With Superstar’s next movie ‘Kochadaiyan’ based on motion capturing technology close on the process of taking off. Soon after the film, the project may hit the floors.

As of now, director Shankar is almost done with his next film ‘Nanban’, a remake of Hindi movie ‘3 Idiots’.
