G V Prakash Kumar is one of the leading film music composers in the south. He has been creating big waves film by film with his hit songs and scintillating music.

The young musician composed music for director Selvaraghavan for his last two films Karthi starrer ‘Aayirathil Oruvan’ and Dhanush starrer yet to be released ‘Mayakkam Enna’. But for the director’s next film ‘Irandaam Ulagam’ G V Prakash is not been included as musician, instead Harris Jayaraj has been roped in to compose music for the film.

When asked why Selvaraghavan and himself were not working together for the next film, the talented composer said, “I put all my best efforts and composed music and songs for those two films that I worked with Selva and he was also all satisfied and happy with my work. But, why then we have parted ways is that directors sometimes need different composers to give their films a variety in the feel of music and that is what happened now for us. For the director, it was first Yuvan Shankar Raja, and then me and it is Harris Jayaraj now. It is not that directors and music composers should always work together for all the films they do. In fact I once recommended A R Rahman to Selva for his next film!”
