Prashanth's magnum opus Mambattiyan is all set to hit the screens on July 15. The producer of the film Thiagarajan has finally fixed the date as there is no competition for the next two weeks.
Mambattiyan is the remake of Thiagarajan-starrer Malayur Mambattiyan and the remake version has Meera Jasmine opposite Prashanth. Prakash Raj, Kota Srinivasa Rao, Vijayakumar, Vadivelu, Mano Bala, Mumaith Khan and others played pivotal roles in the film. The hero of the film has taken lot of care in making the film and ensured that all goes well as far as Mambattiyan is concerned.
The film is vastly shot in Kodanadu, Dindi, Kambam, Theni, Malaiyur, in several dense forest areas, in Kochi, and also in the forest areas of Andhra Pradesh. The film is made with a whopping budget of Rs 25 crore.
Mambattiyan is directed and produced by Thiagarajan. Music is rendered by Thaman and Simbu has crooned a song on the film.
Prashanth's last two movies Ponnar Shankar and Mambattiyan are period films, so it is heard that his next will be on a contemporary theme.
