Chances seem to be very little for Velayudham to hit the big screens on Vijay's birthday. The film was scheduled to release on Vijay's birthday which falls on June 22^nd but it is known that the film has brighter chances to release only around July or August.

The shooting of majority of the film got completed and at present the film is left with few important scenes and songs. To complete the pending work shoot it may take time at least till June from here the post production works will take one more month. So, finally Velayudham can be expected in July mid or August. Meanwhile there is a buzz that the audio of the film is postponed to July month. Vijay plays the role of Vetrivel, a milkman who reforms the society, while Genelia and Hansika play as his heroines.

Jayam Raja is the director of the film while Aascar Ravichandran is producing the film under Aascar Films banner.

The technical team includes Priyan for cinematography, Mohan for Editing and Vijay Anthony for music.
