Veteran actor-producer-politician Mohan Babu, who owns Sree Vidyanikethan Educational Institutions near Tirupati, is planning to set up a world-class Music University in Tirupati in association with music maestro Ilaiyaraaja.
Speaking to reporters at Tirumala on Monday after offering the prayers to Lord Venkateswara, Mohan Babu accompanied by Ilaiyaraaja said: "So far, there is no Music University in the country. I sought the maestro to guide our project and he readily accepted. Now, we have come to seek the blessings of Lord Venkateswara before we proceed with our plan of action."
Ilayaraaja said that the proposed music university will reflect the ancient traditions of the country.
