Vikram has recently completed the shoot of his upcoming film Pitha, directed by Madarasapattinam Vijay. Anushka and Amala Paul are the female leads. The film also has Vijay's regular team of Nirav (camera), G.V. Prakash (music), Selva (art) and Anthony (editing). In the film, Vikram will appear as Muthu, a man suffering with a mental disorder and his struggles to bring up his daughter. Amala Paul will appear as Vikram's wife while Anushka plays the role of a lawyer. Though initially reported to be inspired by the American movie I Am Sam, director Vijay has rubbished these reports.
