Bala's obsession with animal behaviour
We saw Vikram as Chithan in Pithamagan standing on fours and shrugging his body like a dog. Arya as an Aghori in Naan Kadavul was devoid of emotions and was only concerned with his food, sleep and cannabis.
All these characters of Bala were blended with a dose of animal behaviour. Bala's Avan Ivan too has similar human-animal behaviour scenes. Bala had planned for a scene in which Vishal was to climb down a tree upside down like a lizard. When Bala discussed the scene with the stunt director, he was turned down citing that it was impossible to perform. Vishal, on realizing that Bala was upset with the discouragement from the stunt director, volunteered to do the scene and asked for a week's time. After a week, Vishal climbed down a tree upside down like a reptile which overwhelmed Bala. Vishal received praises and a warm hug from Bala, who assured he has a great future as an actor.
