The successful hallmarks of Tamil Cinema – Jeyam Raja, Ravi and Editor Mohan have marked tremendous records with their previous films. 4 continuous remakes labeled as blockbusters have paved them to go for another stroke. ‘Kick’ – the abrupt success in Telugu film industry have made positive waves of remaking it.
‘Thillalangadi’ brings the trio combo Mohan-Raja-Ravi for again and Sun Pictures acquiring the film has made it yet more finely attractive.
The film’s plot doesn’t require any introductions as it seems to be the replication of ‘Kick’ including the backdrops of Malaysia.
Thamannah’s annoyance with her boyfriend going astray from every job breaks up their affair and apparently we have a cop (played by Shaam) flying down to Malaysia for a mission of hunting down a smart ‘n’ dangerous thief looting money from even the safest banks with high security. And then, it’s revealed that both the persons with different identities are the same and then begins an edge-seated chase of cat and mouse.
Raja seems to have modified certain characterization to add more humor elements savoring for the Tamil audiences. Of course, if Brahmanandam and Ali had minimal roles appearing during second half, it looks like Vadivelu and Santhanam will appear throughout the show.
Yuvan Shankar Raja’s musical score has been trivializing this time as most of the song are repeated from Telugu version. However, let’s hope Raja serves the best entertainment with the right mix of fun, glamour, romance, action and suspense.
Shaam believes that ‘Thillalangadi’ could be his turning point in career as he plays a challenging role in this film.
The film is slated to hit screens this Friday (July 23) with more prints.
