The 10th death anniversary of popular yesteryear hero and character artiste Jai Shankar will be observed in Chennai on July 12 with a purpose.
The later actor’s son Dr Vijay Shankar, a well-known eye-surgeon in the city, will conduct a free eye check-up and corrective surgery camp for the film fraternity at a function scheduled at the Nadigar Sangam premises.
Also, a sumptuous lunch will be served for more than 400 people from different orphanages and other organisations from all over Chennai on the occasion.
Several top actors including South Indian Film Artistes Association president R Sarath Kumar, Secretary Radha Ravi among others will attend the function and pay tributes to Jai Shankar.
