Milaga movie review
Natraj Subramaniam is one of the finest cinematographers in Bollywood who caught our eye with beautiful films like Parineeta, Jab We Met, Love Aaj Kal.

However in the last three years he has got the acting bug. Nothing wrong in it, but wanting to be a larger than life Kollywood mass hero overnight, is bit too much to stomach.

Anyway his new action hero movie Milaga is a bit spicy and needs bottles of water to digest it. Alagar (Natraj) like all recent Kollywood heroes is a young man from Madurai who runs his father’s Milaga( Red Chilies) business.

But most of the time he spends with his friends (Singam Puli and others), singing songs with friends, fighting for friends. One day trying to save a girl Thenmozhi (Poonkothai) from the clutches of the three dreaded brothers, who control Madurai he runs into trouble.

How Alagar the one-man army defeats the bad guys and walks into the sunset holding the hand of Thenmozhi and singing a remix song as the title cards roll forms the rest of the story.
There is no original bone in the film which is taken from earlier Madurai films and the thread from Johnny Antony’s Malayalam film Cycle.

Sabesh Murali has not been able to come out even with a single tune that stays in your mind.
Actually the first half of the film moves at a rapid pace, and comedy scenes involving Singam Puli and others is quite enjoyable though crass.

It is the predictable second half of the film which hampers the pace as the film is over 2 hours and 30 minutes and needs trimming.
