Sneha's khaki makeover in Bhavani
Beautiful Tamil actress Sneha is all set for a image makeover, this time with her khaki effect in Bhavani (Tamil). Yes, the actress is set to stun audiences by donning a cop's role in Bhavani, which is scheduled for a February release. Talking to a leading English daily, the actress said, 'This is radically different from what I've done in films like Autograph and Pirivom Sandhipom. I've always been seen in girl-next-door roles, so the rough-and-tough look in Bhavani was quite an experience!' About 18 years ago, Vijayanthi IPS revolutionized film making in South India. The film about an honest lady police officer and her fight against corrupt politicians, dispelled the belief that a heroine-centric film cannot become a blockbuster and catapulted Vijayshanthi to the acme of her career. With the way things are going, this version is also likely to create yet another revolution and boost Sneha's career just as Vijayshanthi's image zoomed post Vyjayanthi IPS, when she was given the sobriquet 'lady superstar'. What will be a suitable title for Sneha? When Sneha was first selected for this role, everyone felt she would look elegant in a police officer's uniform (or is it the other way around?!) but wondered if she would be able to fit the tough girl's image. This sure is an incredible makeover for Sneha from a pleasant softie to a tough girl in a manly role. Sneha has also pulled off quite a lot of risky stunts for the film. Bhavani differs from the original Vijayanthi IPS; certain changes have been made to the screenplay to suit today's audience tastes. Bhavani has been produced by G. Kicha and Shahul Hameed for Sri Movie makers. Arthikumar is the director. Music is by Dhina. S.K. Bhupathi is the cinematographer.
