Quite like his film’s title ‘Vinnai Thandi Varuvaya’, director Goutham Vasudev Menon is on cloud nine. The reason is his last venture ‘Varanam Aayiram’ wining the best film in Tamil category in the National Awards announced on Saturday.
“I am happy and thrilled because the film was taken keeping my father in my mind. It is a collection of events that happened between me and my father. The movie is close to my heart,” he says.
The movie featured Suriya, Sameera Reddy and Ramya in lead roles. Produced by Oscar Ravichandran and released by Dayanidhi Alagiri for Cloud Nine Movies, it had musical score by Harris Jeyaraj.
“Due credit should be given to Oscar Ravichandran. It was a common theme - about dad and son. But he had trust in me and encouraged me to come out with quality product,” Goutham says.
On his part, the producer says, “Goutham had conceived a wonderful story and executed it well. I respect my father and adore him. When Goutham narrated the story to me, I decided to produce it immediately”.
