As expected by many inside and outside the industry, director Bala has just been awarded the ‘national award for the best director’ for the film Naan Kadavul. Bala, who is extremely happy, is somewhat upset as he had been awaiting more awards in many categories for his film.
Superstar Rajnikanth was the first one to ring up Bala and congratulated him with the ‘Didn’t I tell you already?’ rider. Rajnikanth reportedly had ‘blessed’ Bala that he would get the national award at the time of watching the preview show of the film itself (soothsayer Rajni?). Rajni was only too happy that his prediction had been proved right.
Meanwhile, Bala has decided to shun violence in his films in future and informed this in a happy tone to the newsmen. Balumahendra, the veteran director and ‘Maestro’ Ilaiyaraaja had reportedly told Bala that as an image has been ‘created’ that Bala is a film-maker of violent movies, he had to come out of it by moving towards either romance or comedy films.
Bala now assures that his next film, after his venture with Vishal and Aarya, would be a romantic one for sure!
