Director Thiru announced a film with Jai in the lead some weeks ago. This project is being produced by Varun Manian through his home banner.

While earlier reports suggested that the star cast would comprise Jai, Trisha, Prabhu Deva and Simran, the latest buzz is that except Jai all the others have opted out.

Sources say that the filmmakers approached Sonia Agarwal with the offer and she had agreed to don the greasepaint. Starring Jai in the lead role, Taapsee plays the female lead in it. Interestingly, Trisha was the first choice to play the heroine but she opted out, which forced the filmmakers sign up Taapsee, obvious reason could be Trisha - Varun Manian split.

Sonia Agarwal will be playing an important role in the Thiru directorial after Simran moved out of the project. Simran did agree to play a pivotal role in the film, but due to certain reasons decided against it.

We hear that director-actor Samuthirakani has been roped in to replace Prabhu Deva. The film will start rolling from end of this month at Kumbakkonam as Taapsee portions are completely shot here and rest in Chennai.
