As reported few days earlier, KV Anand's 'Anegan' starring Dhanush and Amyra Dastur acquired the 'U' certificate from the Censor board and is gearing up well towards its release.

However, news has now surfaced that the CBFC jury had given the 'U' certificate after 23 cuts were implemented in the movie and that KV Anand had no other option to resort to.

They had objected to the dialogues and sequences of the film. They also mentioned that they will not certify the film with a U certificate.

The crew had agreed to delete the controversial sequences. 23 sequences were deleted. A smoking scene in a song sequence was also deleted. Some vulgar dialogues and scenes were also deleted

'Anegan' has music scored by Harris Jayaraj and is already a chartbuster at the top of the charts. The movie is now said to be all set for release on February 13.

It is being said that despite there being 23 cuts implemented in the movie and that for the cause of tax exemption, this will not lead to any hindrance to the flow of the story overall.

When spoke to the director of the film K.V.Anand in this regard, the ace commercial filmmaker said that he wasn’t too worried about the cuts since none of them would hamper the narration of the film, and that they were just dialogue-based cuts and some visual ones.

Meantime AGS, the producers of Dhanush's Anegan is all set to release the film on February 13 and they are going to kick start theatre bookings for the film.

The team has already locked key theaters in Chennai and they will be soon signing the agreement with theatres in other areas as well. As Yennai Arindhal has been pushed to February 5, there was a rumour that Anegan will be postponed to some other date but the producers have denied it.

It has to be noted that Dhanush's another film Shamitabh will be releasing on February 6, so two back to back releases for Dhanush!

There is a positive vibe surrounding Anegan, as the trailer and the songs of the film have met with positive reviews, specially the massy ‘Danga Maari’ number which continues to be one of the hot favorite numbers among music lovers.
