Vijay's upcoming film, "Kaththi", has received a clean "U" rating from the censor board.

With the censor formalities complete, "Kaththi" team is expected to commence the promotional activities of the film. "Kaththi" is all set for a massive release on 22 October as a Diwali treat for the fans.

There are huge expectations for "Kaththi" as Vijay has teamed up with director AR Murugadoss for the second time after the humongous success of "Thuppakki." The film's posters, teaser and the songs have generated a huge buzz surrounding the project. Fans are eagerly waiting to see the trailer, which was expected to be released this weekend. However, there has no official announcement regarding the same.

"Kaththi" is tipped to be an action thriller with Vijay appearing in dual roles. For the first time, Samantha plays the female lead opposite Ilayathalapathy in the film. Neil Nithin Mukesh, Tota Roy and comedian Sathish are also part of the film's cast. Lyca Productions and Ayngaran International have jointly produced the film.

Anirudh has composed the songs, which have already become big hits. The "Selfie Pulla" song and "Aathi" song are said to be the pick of the lot. "Kaththi" is expected to enjoy a long weekend owing to Diwali holiday. It is likely to take grand openings despite the release of Vishal's "Poojai" on the same day. "Poojai" has been censored with "U/A" certificate and confirmed for Diwali release.
