Ilayathalapathy Vijay said "An actor better than me is sitting in front (Referring to Dhanush) Vijay also added that he is eagerly waiting for Dhanush's Mariyaan.

Its worth mentioning that Vijay won the Favourite Hero Award and Best Entertainer Award for His Nanban and Thuppakki whereas Dhanush won the Best actor Male for his '3'.

The Bollywood Baadshah, King Shah Rukh Khan was also present in the Annual Vijay TV Awards awarded Ilayathalapathy with the Favourite Actor Award and complemented him saying "Vijay was a far better actor and Dancer compared to him".

SRK also handed AR Murugadoss the award for favourite Director and and the award for Favourite Film of the year to Thuapakki.
