Kamal Haasan's controversial film Vishwaroopam may have had a late start after being banned for almost two weeks but it's making up for lost time at the box office.
The film, which released on February 7, has fetched Rs 120 crore in just four days and is still running to packed houses in Tamil Nadu.

Rahul Bose, who plays the antagonist in the film, shared the news on Twitter. He wrote: "Just received figures of the all india box office collections of vishwaroopam. 120 crores and counting. Superb!"

He added: "Vishwaroopam's the first film I've been a part of that's made over 100 crores. Congratulatuions to the team and Mr haasan especially!" Kamal Haasan's film faced flak from certain Muslim groups over its alleged offensive content and was banned by the Tamil Nadu government on January 24, a day before it was scheduled to release. The ban was released after a legal battle and when Kamal Haasan agreed to re-edit certain scenes.

On the first day of its release in its home state, the film received a great response and was being screened at some theatres as early as 5 am. Vishwaroopam fetched Rs 5.81 crores in Tamil Nadu the day it released.

Vishwaroopam has also been declared a hit in the US and UK, where it released on the day it was meant to. Vishwaroopam, made a cost of Rs 96 crores, is Kamal Haasan's most expensive film and has been written, directed and produced by the actor who also stars in it with Rahul Bose, Shekhar Kapur and Pooja Kumar.

  1. Today, I went to the beachfront with my children. I found a sea
shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said "You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear." She placed the shell to
her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside
and it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back!
LoL I know this is entirely off topic but I had to tell someone!
