Dharani is film inspired by Robert Frost’s The Road Not Taken. This film is about three people trying to achieve their goals and how they approach a particular situation to realise their dreams.
Dharani, in fact, details about the path taken by these people and how they traverse through.

The film has three heroes – Aari, Karna and Kumaravel. Aari and Karna have undergone a lot of training for Dharani and have completely changed their physique to suit their roles in the film. Kumaravel, who was seen as a character artiste till now, is one of the heroes in this film. He holds a masters’ degree in dramatics. He is an experienced ‘Koothu’ artiste and will be seen dancing for two Koothu tunes in Dharani. For these two particular dance sequences, Kumaravel had undergone a special training at Purisai Kannappa Thambiran’s Koothu School. Sandra and Suchithra play the female leads.

The songs have been scored through the live orchestra. For a particular song in Dharani, Kannappa Thambiran’s son Kannappa Sammantham had done a special Koothu dance along with his troupe. Both the Koothu dances were choreographed without a dance master.

VGS Narendran has produced this film under the banner Melody Movies. Story, screenplay, dialogues and direction is by Guhan Sammantham. R Prakash and Vinoth Gandhi have cranked the camera and Enson has scored the music for this film.
