​It is official! Samantha has walked out of Mani Ratnam’s under production Kadal. The film is the launch pad of Gautham, son of actor Karthik.

The shoot of the film has been progressing at brisk pace in a seaside village near Kanyakumari. Already many scenes have been taken on the lead pair. Now after her walkout, Mani has to find a new heroine for the film.

Everybody in Kollywood has been taken aback by Samantha’s decision to walk out of such a prestigious project like a Mani Ratnam film. Samantha who is riding a wave in Telugu is Gautham Menon’s heroine in his bi-lingual Neethaane Enn Ponvasantham and has also Rajamouli’s Eega coming up for release.

Samantha has hit the gravy train as she has been signed to do Shankar’s next film with Vikram and is in talks with Venkat Prabhu for his Karthi starrer Biriyani. Her image will now take a beating for walking out of a Mani Ratnam film and that too so early in her career.
